Love Is All There Is…

Well, it looks like on Earth folks are getting ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day — the day when peeps are hyper-focused on love.  Did you know that dogs Are love?  Truly, we are bundles of furry love overflowing!

showing mama some love a few years ago... I miss being able to kiss her!

For us precious pooches every act, every breath is running through a filter of love.  You know all that fur that some dogs shed?  Think of it as furry fairy-dust, sprinkling love all over your house!  I bet you have a different perspective about your shedding pet now, don’t you?

John and Paul said “love is all there is” and they were right.  One of the marvels of my transition has been to commune with others who have left the earthly plain.  And, I must say, that I never thought I’d have the chance to witness John Lennon compose angelic love songs, but I have.  If you thought his compositions were grand down there, you should hear what he’s come up with since his passing!

Love is a snuggle.   Love is what I feel every time my tail wags (which is constant).  Love is the happiness you feel when a friend succeeds. Love is food.  Love is in sunshine and rain clouds and every blade of grass your puppy relieves himself on.

Love is romantic.  Love is ever-lasting.  Love is your pack of friends.  Love is in your paycheck.  Love vibrates through the music you adore.  Love is your neighbor and even your enemy.

Love is Everywhere!

Love is waiting for you at the pet adoption center near you!

If you are considering adding a much shorter member to your family, there’s no day like love day to make

Adopt a furry bundle of love at your local shelter!

your move.  A furry bundle of joy is waiting for you — waiting to share his abundant love with you every moment.

Even though I’m no longer with mama physically, she feels my love constantly as I feel her love reaching up to me.

Open your hearts to the love that surrounds you, peeps!  I love all of my FOA’s and hope you feel that in the deepest part of yourself.

What does Valentine’s Day mean to you?  How do you define love?

  1. My husband always says that other people are like sandpaper to him but I never am! We love loving each other through daily routines and the rhythms of our lives.

I do love seeing the pictures of everyone around Timmy looking so happy!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Atticus! You continue to shower peace and love on us even from afar. When I saw the title of this post, I knew it had your signature.

Judy — what a sweet (and interesting) turn of phrase your hubby has for his love towards you.

Yes, Timmy is making mama very happy and she feels that puppy love again. He is such a love bug! this morning he was laying next to mama and had his nose resting on her chest right under her chin. He was snoring contentedly and mama woke with a giant smile feeling his hot breath on her neck. Pure sweetness!!

Love. Fits like a glove. Sometimes it seems like it’s nowhere. But if you stop feeling sorry for yourself and just take a look around, you’ll see that it’s everywhere. Your parents love you, brothers, sisters, daughter, son, dog, cat, neighbor, friends–they all love you. Even if they don’t tell you or have never said it directly to you, it is there. It’s the good feeling you get from their presence; the reason you want to make them smile; the reason you wish them the best possible health; touching, hugging them; telling them how important they are; laughing with them; visualizing them in your thoughts whether they are alive or have passed on. Sometimes it’s the most difficult thing to say to someone. Know that every time you say it, it has meaning to the recipient. It sparks. We all want it; we all need it.

Couldn’t agree more. I feel that dogs are God’s secret little gift to us that show us the way to enlightenment!

Atticus, You are such a love bug whether here or in the clouds!! Your definitions of love are wonderful and varied and true. Love is everywhere — one just has to be open to seeing it. Love to you, Timmy, Mama and the rest!

  7. I have to admit that I am not a fan of the holiday because I think it’s a commercial sham. we need to show those we love how we feel about them everyday and we don’t need to buy chocolates and flowers to let them know. That doesn’t mean I’m not a fan of love. It’s a great thing and as a Beatles fan I always tell newly weds what Paul said… “…the love you take is equal to the love you make”.

Love is indeed everywhere, Atti, because God is Love and He made all things, so His Love is integral to all existence. We as humans have the choice, though, to express that love or not. In this imperfect world we often make the choice for something less than love, sadly. I agree that dogs (and cats, too! and all the other amazing creatures God has give us to steward) are full of love waiting to be shared and nurtured and returned; I wish I had the capability and resources to give loving homes to all the special puppies, kitties, rabbits, horses, etc. out there without a home. I love when I read about places like The Gentle Barn that have made that their whole purpose in the world; I know that some day we will all be together up there with you, Atti, and no human or animal will ever be lonely or feel unloved again!

Thank you Sarah and yes, Love is a great thing! How wonderful to have “fallen in love more” with your hubby — really sweet :) Happy Valentine’s Day to you & hubby

  10. Atticus says:

Chico — why aren’t you blogging?!? I think your comment is better than my blog! and I completely agree with every perfectly chosen word in your comment. Thank you for speaking from your heart. Happy love day to you! :)

  11. Atticus says:

Absolutely Chris!! but maybe not so secret (at least to us). Happy love day to you, my friend :) xxxooo

  12. Atticus says:

Thanks Trish. Yes, love is everywhere!! we just need to be open to it and recognize love in it’s many varied forms. Have you seen the movie “Love Actually”? It’s one of my favorites and we watch it at least once a year. Happy Valentine’s Day to you, hubby, Robert, the kids and all your furry family members :)

  13. chrislwagner says:

    You too Heidi!! XXXOOO

  14. Atticus says:

Perfect quote, Dennis. You know that we’re all big Beatles fans in our house. John & Paul’s words are so simple, yet so profound. I hope you & your wife have a wonderful love day (without chocolates or flowers :) )

  15. Atticus says:

Right you are (as always), Donna! We are all made of love and from love.

We also love the Gentle Barn and the great work they do. In the foothills near us, we have an org. called Grace Foundation that is very similar. They take in unwanted horses, dogs, cats, even pigs. These groups are doing God’s work for sure.

Much love to you, hubby, Taylor & kitties this Valentine’s Day :)

  16. Chico Ochi says:

Thank you Atticus. That is an honor coming from you. Keep spreading your message.

  17. Happy Valentine Day to my grandpuppies, Atticus, Wilbur, and little Timmy. Hugs and Kisses, Grandma
